Elementary School: Overview

  • Bethany Christian School is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

  • Bethany Christian School is in accordance with all the regulations governing elementary education in the state of California.

  • We employ caring teachers interested in the child’s total growth – spiritual, academic, and emotional.

  • All teachers are credentialed.

  • Classroom size is limited to 26 students.

  • Assistant teachers are employed in all elementary classrooms.

  • Students in grades 4-6 are loaned a chromebook for the entire year at no extra charge.

  • Students attend weekly chapel services.

  • We provide a loving environment without sacrificing discipline.

  • We maintain excellent communication with parents.

  • Daily activities are constant opportunities for the teacher to share biblical truths.

  • We emphasize basic skills – strong phonetic reading program, writing, and arithmetic.

  • Spanish, music, art, computer, library and P.E. specialists meet with all students.

  • Grades 4, 5, and 6 participate in leadership opportunities in student council.  They also participate in the National Scripps Spelling Bee.

  • National Achievement Tests are given each spring.

  • Many after-school programs are available to students such as academic chess, robotics, cooking, sports, music, and art. See our  after-school enrichment page. 

  • Fifth graders attend an exciting, overnight science camp called "Astrocamp." Sixth graders participate in outdoor school and a memorable study buddy program.  (Due to Covid-19, these may change.)
