Hello BCS Families!

We were so blessed by our 7th grade chapel last week. The students shared about growing into strong Christian leaders through verse, poems, and original works.  A big congrats to the class and thanks to Mr. Cahill for the superb handbell performance!

Two faithful volunteers are graciously planning Teacher Appreciation Week, and they need your help!  Please reach out to the front office or send a Venmo to Jolyn Haye (@Jolyn-Haye) to easily contribute towards a Teacher Taco Lunch and other blessings. See attached flyer for the fun they have planned!

Many thanks to the families, faculty, and staff who were able to join us at Bethany Bible Church this past Sunday night.  It was so exciting to see so many of you there in celebration of the partnership between BCS and BBC!  In case you missed the service, see the LINK  of the live stream of the service.  Hints for viewing:

Dear BCS Families,

Fifth grade chapel was absolutely beautiful today!  Thank you to Miss Walters, Miss DeWitt, Mrs. Spang, and parents for all their help memorizing the beautiful words of the Easter story.  Hearing them recite and sing was literally music to our ears!  Well done, 5th grade!

Reminder for Free dress in Easter colors tomorrow!  Thank you for following all dress code rules.

From Mrs. Spang and the Ministry Club:  A HUGE thank you to each family that donated items to the BCS rummage sale to benefit the students at God Cares School in Uganda.  The weather cooperated and the sale brought in a significant amount of money.  Please plan to stay for Opening Circle on Monday, May 15 to see our Ministry Club students present a check to the founder of Buyamba Uganda, Mrs. Florence Dongo. Together, we are making a difference, one child at a time.

Yearbook orders and Golf Tournament tickets are both due TOMORROW.  Contact the front office with any questions!  See the attached newsletter for more information and for Evite links for upcoming events!

Have a wonderful evening and a blessed Easter!  Enjoy Spring Break!

Dear BCS Families,

Hello Bethany Families!

What is your greatest gift? 5th grade chapel was such a sweet reminder to us all that the greatest gifts are not necessarily under the Christmas tree or wrapped in a present. The 5th grade students did an incredible job reminding us of the gift of salvation, God's love, our family, and our individual God-given gifts. Thank you to Ms. DeWitt and Mrs. Spang for helping 5th grade prepare for this poetry recital.

Please read the February newsletter for updates on campus events this month as well as the next Norman's uniform sale date.

Blessings for a wonderful evening,

Julie Shannon, Head of School

Dear BCS Families,

Welcome back to school, Bethany! We were blessed to have Jim Hines share a chapel message with us this morning. In addition to being the school board chairman, Jim leads the Bethany Bible Church Elder Board as well as serves in multiple pastoral duties. Pastor Hines's message focused on reminding students to "look at their own heart" (as one kindergarten student put it) before criticizing others. What a beautiful reminder for all of us! Thank you Mrs. Cole for inviting Pastor Hines to our chapel this morning.

Please read the January newsletter for many exciting upcoming events, dates, and links.

Blessings!

Hello BCS Families!

Happy Wednesday!  We hope you all are surviving the heat this past week.  We were blessed by Darren Yui who is the husband of Mrs. Yui, a teacher, and former missionary at chapel today.  He reminded us how we might not know the gifts that God wants us to use, but the Lord calls us to follow Him no matter what.  Hearing about how Darren was called to use his gifts to become a teacher and a missionary in Uganda were inspiring to us all!  Thank you to Darren and Mrs. Yui!

     A few items to note:

      1)  Check the newsletter for important information on new clubs and events on campus.

      2)  Thanks for your patience with the car line in the morning.  We have two goals for car line each day being #1 safety for all and #2 swift departure for parents.  We are trying to find the best possible way to get you all swiftly on your way while keeping all children safe each day.

      3)  Let us know of any medical updates, allergies, or medication needs for your child.  Contact Mrs. Spaulding in the front office for details at lspaulding@bcsto.org or 805-497-7072.

Thank you for reading the attached September newsletter for many details about upcoming events.

Have a blessed evening and stay cool!
