Bethany Christian School began in 1974 as a community-service ministry of Bethany Church. It began as a preschool with 29 students and five teachers.
Today, the school consists of eight preschool classes, a parent-toddler class, a kindergarten and elementary grades 1-6. There are 300 students currently enrolled and a staff of 35 teachers and support-staff members.
We are proud of the reputation Bethany holds in our community. Our preschool is cited as a model by early-childhood educators and the elementary school has established itself as one of the finest private schools in the area. For all this, we give praise and thanks to our Lord Jesus.
Bethany Christian School seeks to lead each child to a personal faith in Jesus Christ and to pursue academic excellence within a setting that reinforces Christian values.
The School Board
The Bethany Christian School Board is the policy-making body of the school. It is the responsibility of the school board to see that Bethany Christian School maintains high Christian and academic standards. The school board consists of an uneven number of voting members including the chairman and principal. The school board chairman is responsible for appointing all members to the board and filling school board vacancies as they occur. All board members must be members of Bethany Church on the Hill. Board members are appointed for a term of three years.
